Forgiveness (2011)
Palestinian Christians
dreaming of peace
The historic lands
where Jesus grew up and ministered in
are now ruled under Islamic law,
where professing the name of Jesus can mean death.
Even so, there is a growing number of Christians,
who have shown a remarkable change in their attitudes towards
the Jewish people and Israel by loving,
forgiving and even blessing their once enemies.
This film portrays the forgiveness that is made possible
by the powerful move of the Holy Spirit and offers
the love of Christ as the one solution
that can overcome the historical conflict
between Israel and Palestine.
Palestinian who believe in Jesus
Palestine has changed into the land of Islam, but nevertheless there are Palestinian Arab Christians that believe in Jesus. How do they meet Jesus in the land of darkness where the Gospel of Christ can’t set foot? What type of persecutions would they receive after becoming a Christian and what type of changes would there be?
Surprisingly, they started praying prayers of love and blessing over the Jews of Israel, with whom they had a conflicting relationship filled with animosity ever since the founding of Israel in 1948.
The Palestinians’ practice showing the love of Jesus Christ if you are praying and truly desire the restoration of Israel… You must pray for the Palestine Arab Christians.
Who are Palestinians?
AD70, Israel was destroyed by Rome. Rome changed the name of the land to Palestine., which is named after the Jews’ long enemy, Philistines, and the Jews scattered and lived in the lands of Europe and Africa.
Since then, the Bedouins living in the surrounding land began to settle in the land of Israel, including Jerusalem; to this day they are still residing in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank region. They are the Palestinians.
Plot
At 2:00 AM, a few Palestinians are gathered in the deep mountains to worship in silence without light and using rocks as chairs.
Why are they secretly worshipping in these deep mountains?
It’s because these people will be stoned or shot to death by other Arabs that live in the same village if their being believers of Jesus is revealed. One of these Palestinians is waiting for his/her case to be brought to court in a few days- the case being: As a Palestinian, believing in Jesus instead of Allah.
Bethlehem- the land Jesus was born, Bethany- the land Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, Jericho- the land where Jesus met Zacchaeus… The places of Jesus’ ministry is now the land of Palestine where most of the population living there are Muslim. Nevertheless, there is an increasing number of people in the land of Palestine that overcome the fear of death to become believers of Jesus.
How did they come to believe in Jesus and what are their changes after becoming a Christian? Eventually, they begin to reconcile and forgive the Israelite Jews- whom they have long despised.
